Counseling Services Cherry Hill Elementary School's Counseling Department offers prevention based programs. We believe in supporting the social and emotional development of our students so that they can be productive learners. Our programs teach students about conflict resolution, emotional and social literacy, empowerment, growth mindset and acceptance. The counseling department's goal is to help our students become productive, life-long learners in all aspects of their growth and development. Our programs support a positive school climate for students so that they can not only learn academics but also learn to collaborate, inspire, and support each other as members of our proud school family. 2021-22 Counseling Programs Kids' Turn-changing family support group(divorce, death, or illness). Small groups in grades 1-6 meet during lunchtime or community time. 2021 Kids' Turn Response Form Primary Project-Kindergarten/1st grade play therapy program. Our younger students who are struggling to assimilate are recommended by their teacher.
Community Buddies-6th grade students and 1st grade students will engage in fun activities during community time to foster relationships across grade levels.
We are Empowered-6 week program for 4th grade to improve relationship skills, self awareness, social awareness, and conflict resolution skills
Week of Respect-the first week in October is focused on RESPECT. The teachers/counselors teach lessons related to Respect. We have a special assembly and spirited days. All activities are geared to inspire a more positive school climate.
Individual and behavioral counseling is always available when circumstances arise that interferes with a student's school performance.
